Besides owning an a twelve-acre organic farm in Nicaragua, I’m also a native of Clearwater, FL, have a bachelor’s in business administration from Flagler College, and a master’s degree in creative writing, I began my career as a journalist for the Tampa Bay Times sports desk before relocating to California for ten years, where I completed stints as both managing editor for Surfing magazine and contributing editor for Surfer magazine. After jumping the fence from editorial to advertising, I joined a division of Draft: FCB that specialized in youth advertising. I led and served on accounts such as Vans, PacSun, Activision, Casio G-SHOCK, and later, at my own shop, several other national brands, including Target, Speedo, Oakley, AVEDA, and Quiksilver. I’ve traveled extensively and lived abroad in various places such as Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Chile, Spain, and Kauai. Over the years, I’ve amassed an extensive branding background and rich cultural perspectives that have infused my creativity with real world experience. I was most recently a leader at SPARK, a branding agency in Tampa, FL, where I acted as creative director for PetSmart Charities, Marriott Autograph Hotels, VISIT Newport Beach, The Port of San Diego, and other global brands.
